Buns with poppy seeds on Macovei

These buns with poppy seeds yeast dough wrapped into a spiral of long "sausages" stuffed with poppy. Thus, it turns out the original form and the filling does not fall on a baking sheet for baking.

Also for this recipe you will need butter yeast dough and the filling of poppy.

  • 1 kg of pastry for biscuits;
  • 1 cup of poppy;
  • 2/3 cup sugar;
  • 1 egg;
  • 1 tbsp. spoonful of sugar (optional).

prepare stuffing
First, prepare the stuffing. Sprinkle poppy in a tall glass or a glass jar, cover with cold water, stir and leave for half an hour.
After a specified time, drain water together with the seeds that have surfaced. Fill poppy boiling water, cover and leave for another half hour.
Then fold it in a colander, the laidseveral layers of cheesecloth, and let the water drain (15-20 min.). Swollen poppy seeds can scroll through a meat grinder with a thin knife or just the old fashioned way, with sugar with a spoon (or mortar and pestle).

Roll out dough
