For biscuits from unleavened dough, you can use fresh, frozen or even dried cranberries. You can also add to the dough orange or lemon zest, chopped nuts or candied fruit.

These buns are on kefir light, almost breadtexture, because the dough does not contain eggs. Kefir or cream is used to bind all the ingredients. Also you can use for buns made from unleavened dough milk, if you want to get your buns contain less fat.

As I said above, the berries for this recipe can be taken fresh, frozen or dried. Although I prefer to freeze fresh cranberries to the test when stirring not crush the delicate berries.

Bake the muffins in the yogurt in a hot oven untila beautiful golden color, until a toothpick inserted in center of muffins comes out clean. They are especially good warm, right out of the oven. They can be served with coffee by themselves or in the traditional way - with oil, lemon cream or jam.

  • 1/3 cup white granulated sugar;

  • 100 grams (half a pack) cold unsalted butter;
  • 2/3 cup fresh or frozen cranberries;
  • 1/3 cup candied fruits or nuts;
  • 2/3 or 3/4 cup (160-180 mL) of yogurt or cream;
  • 1/4 cup crushed almonds (optional).

Preheat the oven
Preheat oven to 200 gr. C and place the rack (shelf) in the center of the oven.

Mix the dry ingredients
In a large bowl, mix together all the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.

Add the butter
