Chicken stuffed with prunes and walnuts

Stuffed chicken, baked in the oven - itMy first attempt to stuff the chicken skin boneless meat, prunes, walnuts and some other ingredients. I have long had this recipe, and I wanted to try it out before the New Year.

It was difficult to remove the skin from the chicken carcass is entirelywithout damage, but I did it (I have prepared instructions on how to do it step by step with photos). And although the stuffed chicken in the oven fully prepares a bit troublesome, the result is worth it, it will decorate Christmas table better than duck baked in the oven.

The only problem I had with bacon. Smoked bacon gives a very strong and distinctive taste, which affects the taste of other ingredients. So for this recipe I suggest using a smaller number of smoked bacon or pork to replace him.

Ingredients for "Chicken stuffed with prunes and walnuts":

  • 1 large whole chicken (2 kg);
  • 100 g smoked bacon (you can replace it with pork or lower at all);
  • 1 egg;
  • 150 g of dried prunes, pitted;
  • 150 g of shelled walnuts;
  • 2-3 small cloves of garlic;
  • a small bunch of fresh parsley;
  • ground black pepper (or other spices that you like chicken);
  • salt - to taste;
  • 2 tbsp. tkemali spoon sauce (can substitute honey mixture with melted butter);
  • a little oil for the lubrication of the form.

Prepare ingredients: mine, purify
Prepare the ingredients: prunes rinse with hot running water, remove seeds, if desired.
Rinse the bird inside and out, pat it dry with paper towels.
Wash the parsley, peel the garlic cloves.

Remove the skin from chicken
Carefully remove the skin from the carcass as a whole (try not to damage it).

Remove the meat from the bones and cut into
Separate the meat from the bones (bone can be used for chicken soup) and cut the meat into smaller pieces.

Mince the ingredients for the filling
Mince the chicken, bacon (or pork), prunes and walnuts - all together.

Garlic throw in a meat grinder
Garlic cloves and send in a meat grinder together with the other ingredients.

Add the minced spices and salt
Add the minced salt, ground black pepper and other spices as desired (I added the Georgian spice mixture hops-suneli).

Add the minced parsley
Add the chopped parsley.

Add the minced egg
Break, mix and add the minced egg.

Stuffing mix thoroughly
Thoroughly mix all ingredients for the filling stuffed chicken.

Farshiruem chicken skin
Using a tablespoon, carefully fill the chicken skin, which you have prepared before, mixed meat filling.

Fix the skin of wooden toothpicks
Keep the skin around the edges of the chicken and seal all openings with sharp wooden toothpicks.

Put the chicken in the form of
Preheat oven to 200 gr.S.
Transfer the stuffed chicken in a greased ceramic or Teflon baking dish.

Pour sauce chicken tkemali
Top generously coat the skin of the chicken sauce tkemali (if you do not have this sauce, you can use a mixture of honey and melted butter).

Pour the chicken stuffed with vegetable oil
Pour the chicken stuffed with a small amount of oil on top.

Bake, cut and serve stuffed chicken
Place the form in the preheated oven and bake for 45 to 60 minutes, until the chicken becomes crispy golden brown.
Cooked stuffed chicken, remove from the oven, let it "rest" a few minutes, cut into portions and serve.
