Georgian khachapuri with cheese and green onion

Khachapuri with cheese puff pastry is consideredone of the most famous national dishes of Georgia. Each region has its own distinctive Georgian khachapuri recipes. One of the most delicious Georgian khachapuri prepared in Svaneti.

I will show in this recipe, how to make Svankhachapuri with cheese puff pastry with eggs and green onions. I will not dwell on the recipe puff dough, as already wrote about it on this page.

On one Svan khachapuri need about 500 gthe dough, but it can be an oven and a small khachapuri puff pastry with cheese - just reduce the number of ingredients, or increase the number of khachapuri.

Ingredients for a "Georgian khachapuri with cheese and green onion":

  • 500 g of finished puff dough;
  • a little flour for the dough;
  • 300 g Imereti cheese (or cheese, mozzarella, cottage cheese);
  • 100 g of green onions;
  • 1 egg;
  • 1 egg yolk;
  • 1 tbsp. spoon vegetable oil;
  • knob of butter;
  • salt - to taste.

Recipe "Georgian khachapuri with cheese and green onion":

Cheese crumble and chop green onions
Prepare products: crumble the cheese and finely chop the green onions.

Put the dough on the table
Remove from the refrigerator ready flaky yeast dough and place it on the table, well floured.

Add to the bowl of cheese, egg, salt
Put the cheese and egg in a bowl, a little salt and mix well.

Add the onions and stir
Add a bowl of chopped green onion and mix it with cheese.

We spread the filling on the circle of dough
Roll out the dough into a flat circle with the help of a rolling pin, put the stuffing in the middle of the dough.

Gather the edges of the dough over the filling and good will blind them together to seal the khachapuri.
Do so carefully that the edges are not separated during the subsequent rolling tortillas.

Fingers are pressed cake
Turn khachapuri "seam" down and press it with your fingers, making a flat shape.

Roll out the cake
Again, a rolling pin, roll the cake, so it turned out pretty flat.
These Georgian khachapuri with cheese puff pastry should be not less than 25 cm in diameter.
(However, you can adjust the size of khachapuri, depending on the size of your pan or baking dish).

Put on a baking khachapuri
Place the cake on a greased with vegetable oilbaking sheet, brush it on top of egg yolk and bake in a preheated oven at 200 oC, until the dough is golden brown (about 20-25 minutes).

Lubricate oil khachapuri
Ready khachapuri with cheese and green onions, remove from the oven, brush the surface with a piece of butter and serve hot.

Note

Here is a recipe for one khachapuri with cheese and green onion. It's pretty thin cake, very delicious, especially served with hot, piping hot.
I advise you cook them at the same time not less than three, as is customary in Svaneti. Hot khachapuri fly instantly, although they are good and cold, they can take on the road, at work, on a picnic and so on.
